Volunteer project leader and developer Shiba Inu, known only as “Shitoshi Kusama”, has revealed on social media that the World Economic Forum, or WEF, wants to work with meme-based cryptocurrencies in global politics.

In a poll posted on Twitter on Nov. 22, Kusama said the WEF had “kindly invited” the Shiba Inu (SHIB) project to collaborate on “global MV policy.” It looks like the developer of the Shiba Inu had the politics of the metaverse in mind. Cryptocurrency and blockchain have occasionally been discussed at WEF events, but a partnership with a popular meme token would presumably be a first for the organization.

“Yes, I’m serious,” Kusama said. “We will be at the same table with politicians and help shape global policy for MV along with other giants like FB (bye, Zuk), Sand, Decentraland, etc.”

At the time of publication, over 65% of Kusama’s approximately 9,500 poll respondents voted for a Shiba Inu to work with the WEF, with roughly 10% saying it doesn’t matter one way or the other. Kusama has over 861,000 Twitter followers.

The price of SHIB has fallen by about 80% over the past 12 months, hitting $0.000008727 at press time, according to data from Markets Pro.
