A recent photo of former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison in a Manhattan coffee shop in New York went viral on Twitter.

On December 4, two photos began circulating on Twitter showing Allison ordering coffee at the Ground Support Cafe in Manhattan.

Adding some weight to the possible sighting, Gopher, a Golden Doodle puppy known to be owned by FTX and Alameda executives, also appears in the photo next to Allison.

Possible appearance of Caroline Ellison: Twitter

Ellison’s last proposed location was Hong Kong, which was proposed after the collapse of FTX and Alameda. At the time, a source told on November 12 that she was about to flee to Dubai.

A Twitter user and self-described “citizen journalist” Autism Capital was apparently the first to share the photos, which are believed to have been submitted by an unnamed user.

“A user claims to have spotted Caroline Ellison at the Ground Support Cafe on West Broad in Soho, Manhattan at 8:15 am. [UTC]. This would mean that she is not in Hong Kong and not in New York, not in custody, ”the newspaper wrote.

In response, a man named Daniel Mentado (@dmentado), who claims to work at the café, “confirmed” that it was Allison and that she was served by one of his employees.

Some members of the community are surprised that Allison is in the US, given the possible legal implications, while others speculate that Allison may be trying to make a deal with the authorities.

Some point out that the cafe in question is only a short walk from the US Attorney’s Office and the FBI office in New York.

However, it is worth emphasizing that there is not yet 100% concrete evidence that this is Allison in the photo. Some members of the crypto community even tried to find answers personally, but without success.

Meanwhile, FTX founder Sam Bankman-Freed went on a media tour, describing his version of events, denying any deliberate foul play and placing the blame on the Alameda leadership.

Notably, Bankman-Fried tweeted hours after Ellison’s alleged appearance that he plans to testify at a House Financial Services Committee hearing at some stage, but not before he “finishes studying and reviewing that what happened.”
